Here is a list of registry stuff I have found that prevents Windows from constantly eating resources and constantly accessing your harddrive. There is also a few other usefull registry informations. NOTE ! Generally it is not a good idea to just start editing the registry on the fly, if you have ANY doubt about whether the key you are editing kan result in unpredictable behavior, then save that key to a .reg file before starting editing it, and then dobbelclick the saved .reg file to restore the entire key. If you find any error's or just want to talk about registry, then just mail me , and I'll get right to it ! Nice to know programs and command line tools Preventing entire system from changing a registry key Do not keep history of recently open documents Hide places bar Hide Back button Remove MRU list Preventing ordering of the start menu's Enable/Disable user tracking Enable/Disable ALL 'Find ...' functions Enable/Disable 'Recent' document menu's Enable/Disable Personalized Menus Lock Desktop Enable/Disable Favorites in start menu Prevent Active desktop Remove Run from Start menu Hide specified drives in My Computer Run only allowed Windows applications Remove Map Network Drive and Disconnect Network Drive No Entire Network in My Network Places Disable or remove the shut down command Tambering the Find ... functions Enable/Disable intelligent filename sorting History for this page
